Senior Product Manager, Investments & Derivatives Products

  • Bangalore, Karnataka, India
  • Product
  • Full-Time
  • On-Site

Job Description:

Experience: 4-6 years in product management, with meaningful time on a trading or investments product
Reports to: Senior Director of Product Management

About the role

Mudrex is one of India's leading crypto investment platforms. Our derivatives business, USDT and INR perpetual futures alongside Spot trading, is the fastest-growing part of the platform, and we are scaling both the product surface and the team behind it.

We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to own the execution roadmap for our derivatives and investment products. You will own sprint-level product decisions end to end: what ships, in what order, with what trade-offs, working directly with our engineering pods, design, and growth. The Director retains portfolio strategy; you own everything between strategy and shipped product, and you are expected to make calls without escalating routine domain questions.

This is a high-leverage role on a real-money, real-time system. Mistakes here cost users money. You should find that motivating, not frightening.

What you will own

  • Sprint-level product ownership across Futures (USDT and INR perpetuals) and Spot: backlog definition, prioritization, trade-off decisions, and release quality across multiple engineering pods.
  • PRDs and specs for trading features such as advanced order types, charting integrations, margin and leverage flows and order lifecycle edge cases. Your specs should be precise enough that engineering rarely needs a clarification round.
  • Trading mechanics correctness: funding rates, margin and liquidation behavior, fee and tax handling (TDS, GST), INR/USDT translation flows, and reconciliation edge cases. You will be the first line of judgment on whether an edge case is a P0.
  • Metrics ownership for your surface: trading volume, order success rates, funnel conversion from deposit to first trade, and feature adoption. You define instrumentation, not just consume dashboards.
  • Cross-functional coordination with quant, risk, compliance, design, and growth, including campaign and activation infrastructure tied to trading behavior.
  • Competitive intelligence: you should know what Delta Exchange, CoinDCX, Binance, and Bybit shipped last quarter and have a view on what matters.

What we are looking for

  • 4-6 years in product management, with at least 2 years on a trading, broking, derivatives, or exchange product. Indian broking F&O (equity or commodity derivatives), crypto exchanges, or trading infrastructure are the strongest fits.
  • Working fluency in derivatives mechanics: you can explain funding rates, mark vs. last price, initial vs. maintenance margin, and liquidation waterfalls without looking them up.
  • Strong written PRD discipline. You write specs that enumerate edge cases, define acceptance criteria, and survive contact with engineering.
  • Analytical self-sufficiency: comfortable with SQL or equivalent, able to pull your own funnel and cohort data, and able to instrument new features correctly.
  • Decision-making under ambiguity: evidence that you have owned calls with real downside, and a track record of escalating the right 10% rather than the easy 50%.
  • Operating cadence: you have run multi-pod or multi-squad sprint processes and kept velocity without becoming a ticket administrator.

Strong signals (not required)

  • You trade derivatives yourself, in crypto or Indian F&O.
  • Experience building on third-party exchange or liquidity infrastructure.
  • Exposure to Indian crypto regulation and tax mechanics (1% TDS, Section 194R, GST treatment).
  • Experience with TradingView or charting library integrations.
  • Prior 0-to-1 or early-scale experience where you wore both execution and strategy hats.

What this role is not

  • It is not a delivery manager or scrum master role. You own product decisions, not just ceremonies.
  • It is not a strategy-only role. You will be in the details of order states, fee ledgers, and reconciliation flows weekly.
  • It is not a role for someone who needs a fully de-risked spec handed to them. You write the spec.

Why Mudrex

  • Derivatives volume has scaled more than 10x and continues to compound; you will own a surface that materially moves company revenue.
  • Small, senior product team with direct access to leadership and short decision loops.
  • You inherit a mature product operating system: established pod structures, PRD standards, and roadmap processes, so you can focus on product judgment, not process invention.

Hiring process

  1. Intro call with the hiring manager (30 min)
  2. Domain and product depth round: derivatives mechanics, edge-case reasoning, prioritization (60 min)
  3. Written exercise: a short PRD or teardown on a real trading feature (take-home, time-boxed)
  4. Cross-functional round with engineering and design leads
  5. Founder/leadership conversation
